When the headline is a total lie
Just a quicky this morning, yours truly has a lot on over the next week or so 9including the joy of cleaning out a large amount of junk from the cubs HQ this morning), so don't expect too much from me till next weekend, but trust me, I will be back!
Anyway, take a look at the headline from this story
Now it's the citizen snoopers: Councils recruit unpaid volunteers to spy on their neighbours
Read on a few paragraphs and you come to this sentence,
Officially, the volunteers are not encouraged to spy on neighbours or report them.
So there you have it, the headline is a lie, a big fat fib, a porkie, not the truth, factually incorrect, inaccurate.
In short, they've just made it up.
Look how they are slagging this scheme off, where volunteers are asked to report issues, mess, abandoned vehicles, fly tipping etc. Isn't this just about a sense of community? Of taking pride in your local area? About a sense of local responsibility? Is this not exactly what the Mail bangs on about all the time?
So what's the problem? Could it be the two councils involved, Eastleigh and Tower Hamlets are Lib Dem and Labour respectively?
Surely not.
Ladies and Gentlemen once again I give you, the Daily Mail.

...and if people were being asked to spy on their neighbours for signs of unpatriotism/leftwingness, then the DM would be entirely in favour...
